“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” - Rev 22:14
In bible times the city gates where a place of action. With vendors pursuing impulsive travelers, homeless and sick looking for a handout, the clergy seeking converts even and the politics of lawyers and judgment of criminals where all routine at the city gates.
It could be said that a spiritual gift and a talent are not the same. Although both are spiritual in that their origins are cognitive and unseen, one is given by God the other you attain. Cooking is acquired skills much like speaking or graphic design yet when exercised within the framework of Christ they become our sphere of ministry. Then the miracle of the Holy Spirit is given that God may glorify Himself through us.
